Our story

The sweater that started it all

I have a grey wool sweater I've owned for years. At some point it got a small hole at the front-  the kind you notice on a Tuesday morning when you're already running late. I put it aside. Weeks passed. Then months.

I knew it was fixable. I just didn't know how, and every time I tried to find out, I ended up either overwhelmed by craft supplies I didn't need, and instead of fixing, I ended up scrolling Instagram after I watched that tutorial. So it sat there. A perfectly good sweater, going unworn.

I'm guessing you have one too.

Adding to that, I am a sustainability professional by day- I was preaching circularity for large infrastructure projects but could not bring myself to fix a sweater.

That frustration is where WearRepair started. Because doing the right thing should be easy.

Not from a grand sustainability mission - though I do care deeply about what we throw away and why. It started from something smaller and more honest: repairing clothes should just be easier. The knowledge is out there. The techniques aren't complicated. What was missing was something that put it all in one place and made it feel doable on a Wednesday evening with no prior experience.

So I built that thing.

The WearRepair Sweater Repair Kit has everything you need to fix the most common knitwear damage — holes, thin spots, snags, stains. Felt wool, felting needle, felt patches, thread, needle, safety pins, and a step-by-step guide written for people who have never repaired anything before. It all fits in a compact tin that lives on your shelf, ready for the next time.

Most repairs take less than 10 minutes. The felting technique we guide you through doesn't require any sewing experience — if you can hold a needle, you can do this.

That grey sweater? I fixed it in 5 minutes. I'm wearing it again with pride.

If you have one waiting in your wardrobe, go to https://wearrepair.nl/collections/all and find which colour combination matches your style.

I hope it helps.
